Artist in Residence at Turner’s House

Artist Nicky Carvell
Funded by the National Heritage Lottery Fund, Turner’s House Trust is delighted to offer a 6 month bursary for a Royal Academy Graduate Artist. The aim of this project is to provide an opportunity for an artist to focus on exploring J.M.W. Turner, his time in Twickenham and how it influenced his work.
After a competitive process with many excellent entries, the Trustees are pleased to announce the appointment of Nicky Carvell as Artist In Residence. Turner’s House Trust was impressed by how Nicky’s own artistic practice had been inspired by Turner’s virtuosic painting of light and his appreciation of nature.
Nicky followed in Turner’s footsteps by studying at the Royal Academy Schools from 2006 to 2009.
