THURSDAY 28TH JUNE 6PM/8PM
SOCIAL MUSIC IN TURNER’S WORLD – A MUSICAL EVENING

Join us for our first musical evening at Turner’s House arranged by William Summer of Loki Music. Enjoy the surrounds of Sandycombe Lodge with the sounds of glees, dance tunes, operatic arias and popular songs of the 18th Century.

JOIN US AT 6PM OR 8PM, TICKETS ARE £20 AND INCLUDE A GLASS OF FIZZ!

 

 

3RD JULY, 2:30PM
IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF JMW TURNER

Join Catherine Parry-Wingfield, Turner’s House Trust’s chairman, on a walk from Sandycombe Lodge, the painter’s country retreat, across parkland and along the Thames towpath to the top of Richmond Hill.  Along the way we stop to discuss  Turner’s paintings which this still-beautiful area inspired two hundred years ago.

 

 

19TH JULY, 6-9PM
TURNER’S HOUSE 1ST BIRTHDAY PARTY 

Join us for a special late opening to celebrate a year since we opened our doors following the completion of our conservation project! Guided tours will be available at 6pm, 7pm, and 8pm.

 

 

27TH JULY, 10-1PM
COLLAGRAPH PRINTMAKING FAMILY ACTIVITY

Using a mixture of relief and cutting techniques to create a collaged printing-block,  participants will make personal coloured prints inspired by Turner’s House and grounds. Suitable for 5yrs+. General admission price for adults, kids go FREE!!

TURNER’S HOUSE TEN-MINUTE TALKS

Thursday 28th June  – Turner in Scotland

The Chair of our Board of Trustees, Catherine Parry-Wingfield, will share her thoughts on some of Turner’s views of Scotland that are displayed in Turner’s House, the preparatory watercolours for these prints and Turner’s friendship with the Romantic poet and novelist Walter Scott.

Thursday 12th July – What did Turner look like?

Turner was notoriously reluctant to sit for portraits, very few of them exist and many are thought to be unreliable. So what did he really look like? Volunteer tour guide David Meaden investigates in his next 10-Minute Talk at Turner’s House.

LANDSCAPE ART INSPIRED BY RICHARD LONG – FAMILY ACTIVITY

Join us making art with mud, sticks and stones! Explore landscape at Turner’s House as we create land art with natural materials inspired by Sir Richard Long, a British sculpture and land artist. Suitable for 3yrs+.  General admission price for adults, kids go FREE!!
