Our Sip and Paint sessions include 2 hours in Turner’s sitting room with our creative team, 2 glasses of fizz ( non alcoholic options available) and all materials needed for an artistic evening!
Creative colourblocking will cover bold colour matches and simplified shapes and compositions in acrylic paints on canvas.
All levels and abilities welcome, ground floor accessible.
Join us for a delightfully decadent afternoon painting botanicals and wildflowers on vintage dictionary and sheet music paper, scones, tea and conversation, inspired by Turner’s beautiful gardens. All materials provided and the workshop will be held on the accessible ground floor.
This fascinating exhibition explores the history of J.M.W. Turner’s painting Margate(?), from the Sea (1835–40), and explains the complex legacy of his will and the large body of work known as the Turner Bequest.
This lecture series will give the opportunity to dive deeper into the story of Turner’s bequest, his legacy today, and the relation with Margate.
