The house has been restored in 2017 to bring it back to Turner's original design. By coming and visiting the house, you will see what Turner had in mind for his country retreat in Twickenham, a cosy house for him to entertain guests, relax by the Thames and a home for his father. We offer guided tours to understand better the history of the house, and Turner, and some focused talk to dive in deeper into some aspects of it.
We are located in St Margarets, right in between Richmond-Upon-Thames and Twickenham.
The house is open to visitors Wednesday to Sunday, 12-4pm. We are open from February to October.
It is advised to book tickets in advance, especially for guided tours as we have limited capacity. However, we do accept walk-ins on the day.
The admissions are £12 for an adult and £3 for a child. We offer half-priced tickets for young adults (18-25 years old) and Art Fund Members.
The ground floor of the house is fully accessible. We have a tablet with a digital app that can be given to visitors with mobility issue to explore the 1st floor and basement of the house.
We offer guided tours on our open days, at 12.30. 13.30 and 14.30. Please note that this is subject to our volunteers guides availability.
We do not have a café at Turner’s House, however, there are many lovely cafes and restaurants are located on St Margaret’s Road, close to St Margaret’s train station.
Be first to hear about new exhibitions, events and talks.
