Leave A Legacy

Leaving a legacy in your Will is a great way to support the charities that matter to you. If you love the Richmond and Twickenham area and would like to support the local community through your Will, or if you want to help celebrate J M W Turner and his artistic achievement, you should consider leaving a legacy to the Turner’s House Trust.

The Turner’s House Trust owns and maintains Turner’s House in Twickenham and is responsible for welcoming the public to the House and increasing the appreciation of Turner’s artistic achievement. The cost of running the House greatly exceeds the admission charges.

J M W Turner was of course immensely generous himself, leaving thousands of his works to the nation in his own Will. The wonderful Turner paintings we all enjoy today in the National Gallery and Tate Britain are there because Turner himself had given some thought in advance as to how he would like to be remembered.
It’s easy to include Turner’s House Trust in your Will – we are a UK registered charity, and so all bequests to us are exempt from inheritance tax. In addition, by leaving part of your estate to charity you can now reduce the amount of inheritance tax payable on bequests to family and friends as well.

You may not have made a Will yet, or you may feel it is time to review and update your existing Will. In either case, your solicitor will be able to help you. It’s a surprisingly simple process, and often very reassuring.
