Love Your Home unveils Turner-inspired collection at Sandycombe Lodge
To mark the 250th anniversary of J.M.W. Turner’s birth, furniture designer Love Your Home has launched a three-piece collection inspired by Sandycombe Lodge. Founder Leigh Harmer developed the range — a sofa, the Mallord armchair, and the Sandy Footstool — after time spent studying the house Turner designed for himself, drawing on details from its architecture, from room proportions to the glass ceiling light above the main staircase. We were delighted to welcome Love Your Home back to Sandycombe Lodge for the collection’s press preview and official launch, bringing the pieces home to the setting that inspired them.
We're thrilled to have had international star Ronnie Wood — an artist himself and a Turner fan — here supporting us for the opening of Unfinished Business: The Mystery of Margate and Turner's Bequest.
For the first time in almost forty years rarely seen bird studies will form the star attraction of the first exhibition in a generation devoted to animals and birds painted by J.M.W. Turner. Opening on the artist’s birthday, in his 250th anniversary year, the exhibition takes place at Sandycombe Lodge, the villa near the Thames.
